Teaching
Professor Keilbach has extensive teaching experience. Her primary background is in International Relations and Comparative Politics. She also has expertise in Political Theory and Public Policy. Her regional focal interest is Europe and Transatlantic Relations. Her topic interests are Political Economy and Environmental Politics. Her side passions include Art, Music, Film and Sport. She has taught a broad range of courses covering many topics including: Global Politics, International Relations, Modern World Governments, Global Environmental Politics, International Political Economy, Women and Politics, Model United Nations, Environmental Politics and Policy, Public Policy and Administration, Political Ideologies, Political Ideas, Research Methods, Art and Politics, Film and Politics, Senior Research Seminar, and Freshman Seminar. She has developed three new courses for the UCCS curriculum including International Environmental Politics, Gender in International Politics and Model United Nations; two of these courses are cross-listed with other departments and offered for graduate-level credit as well. She has interest in interdisciplinary studies and background in the advancing discipline of International Studies.
Professor Keilbach's teaching excellence has been recognized over the years. She is the Recipient of the Lamda Chi Alpha Outstanding Teaching Award at the University of Oregon (2000), Nominee for the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award at the University of Oregon (2001), Nominee for the UCCS LAS Outstanding Teaching Award (2003), and Nominee for the UCCS Student's Choice for Educator of the Year (2007). Many of her students have gone on to prestigious graduate programs and law schools, and to positions within the public and private sectors.
